NASCAR News: Brendan Gaughan competing in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series

Brendan Gaughan a well-known veteran driver of NASCAR is said to compete in the 2012 NASCAR Cup series. He will be competing at four races, driving Richard Childress No.33 at Casino Chev. Impala and at the South point Hotel in connection with the previously announced eighteen race Nationwide NASCAR and the World Truck series.  With the much awaited intense action that anyone shouldn’t miss, a lot of fans were waiting for Gaughan’s comeback in the effort of being the number one.

Gaughan, aged 36 had completed the full time Sprint Cup series in the 2004 series. Gaughan finishing at 28th along the championship point stands with four top ten and one top five finishing in the 36 starts. He, a rookie of the 2002 World Truck Series competed full time in the years 2010 and 2009, earning a pole and finishes in his seventy one career starts. Gaughan finished 9th in the event of 2009 championship point and 11th during the 2010. The 2-time NASCAR champion (years 200-2001) had achieved 8 victories with sixty three top ten finishes in the 187 truck series. He also finished 12th in the 2011 championship point. Being one hell of a driver, he is a part of 5-driver lining up that had won in the GT3 division in the event of Rolex 24 (2011) of Daytona car race in the international speedway of Daytona.

Gil Martin, the RCR’s team manager for the program of the National Series will be leading all the efforts in the No.33 team.  Martin, an expert, had already been in the RCR since the year of 2000 and served as the crew for Casey Mears, Clint Bowyer, Robby Gordon, Earnhardt and Kevin Harvick. Mart was the selected amongst the line of crew chiefs in winning the race of the NASCARS World truck series and sprint cup.

Guaghan, also stated that it would be a very big opportunity running four races of Richard Childress on the event of the Sprint series cup. RCR is equipped with high quality equipment that teamed Gaughan with Martin, a crew chief known for his victories. The intense racing action will happen in Pheonix (Ariz.) where the four-race Sprint series cup will be view by thousands of fans, the action will then be followed by the doubleheader weekend whereby Brendan Gaughan will drive and pilot the classic No.33 Chevrolet. The RCR’s team being the 13th finisher in the 2011 finale is determines to win the upcoming event.
