Ryan Newman has entered into the Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals to be held in Tulsa, OK on January 12 2008. The live broadcast on Saturday, January 12 begins at 8:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. PT), with an immediate pay-per-view replay and additional replays on Sunday. The HBO Pay-Per-View racing telecast has a suggested retail price $24.95 and will be available to more than 61 million pay-per-view homes in the United States and Canada and millions more worldwide. HBO Pay-Per-View is the leading supplier of event programming in the pay-per-view industry.

Ryan Nemwan will be driving the #39 owned by Corey Tucker. Newman’s Chasis will be a Bullet with a Mopar Engine. Sponsoring Newman will be K&N, Brown & Miller, Mopar, Penske Shocks.

The NASCAR Nextel Cup star may be a Chili Bowl rookie, but he’s not exactly a rookie when it comes to Midget racing on a dirt track. Although, the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals will mark the first time for “Rocketman” to take to the dirt in a Midget since 1999.

Just like Chili Bowl veterans Stewart, Yeley and Kahne, Newman came up through the ranks of open wheel racing before breaking on to the NASCAR scene. Newman earned USAC Midget Rookie of the Year honors in 1995, and had claimed top Rookie honors in all three open wheel divisions by 1999. In 1999, Ryan won the Silver Crown title and became the first driver in USAC history to win features in all three open wheel divisions in one season.

Newman began his association with Penske Racing in 2000 and has been a part of it since. Finishing among the top seven in Cup points each year from 2002 to 2005, Newman was just outside the Chase in 2007, finishing 13th. Newman has 12 career Nextel Cup wins and has earned 41 pole positions since taking to the circuit full time in 2002, thus earning the “Rocketman” moniker.

Newman wheels one of three Corey Tucker entries in his first Chili Bowl effort, teamed with DIRT Modified racer Jerry Higbie, Jr., and World of Outlaws sprint shoe Randy Hannagan.
