Unfortunately Ryan Newman’s stats at Indianapolis are not very good. There are not any numbers in his stats for the last 3 years at Indy that look promising.

It looks like last year Newman only completed 20 laps of the race after getting spun and slamming into the wall in turn 4. You can read what I had posted about that race HERE.

One positive is that in the last three races Newman has started in the top 10. In fact all 7 of Newman’s Cup career starts have been in the top 10 - starting 8th or better but he has not ever been on the pole at Indianapolis.

You can visit my RACE WEEK CENTRAL to see all of Newman’s races at Indianapolis.

Newman’s best finish at Indianapolis of 3rd place came back in 2002. That is the only time he has finished in the top 5 or top 10. He has an 11th, 13th and the rest are 31st or below.

Obviously we are all pulling for him to have a great finish this weekend in his home state.

Not great stats…… I am hoping that he is on a roll this weekend with all of the media and all…. You know he qualifies well and if he can keep himself in the race he just might have a good chance.
