Ryan Newman News and Information

I am going to try and do this weekly for now on. If you are a numbers person like I am then you will like this weekly break down of each race. I will probably start including it in my post race postings the day after the races.

We know that Ryan ran a great race and his efforts netted him a 8th place finish. Here are Newman’s stats from Talladega. I don’t think that there are any real surprises in these numbers, but some are interesting.

Newman is looking a lot better at this point in the season than he did last year. Last year at this point he was 24th in the points standings. This year he sits 13 positions higher in 11th.

One interesting thing from these numbers that I saw was that Newman did not appear to be real fast on the restarts. He was ranked 34th. But he was 6th fastest in green flag racing.

Like I said, I don’t think any of this is a real shock for the Talladega race. Some of the numbers looked better than I thought they would, and others didn’t look as good as I thought they would. But they are really all pretty consistent.
