Well, today is the day. The 50th running of the Daytona 500. The amount of excitement and anticipation is unbearable.

I have had my Chilli cooking since yesterday noon. I got up this morning, got the little one breakfast and while he was eating I got the meatballs cooking.

Jeni is making a ham for “dinner” which is fantastic - I really like ham. But the problem there is I don’t know how much room I will have after dipping into the chilli and also the meatballs all day. No worries, I am sure I will find the room somewhere.

Got a couple beers in the fridge as well to enjoy for the race.

Jeni’s family is coming over to help consume the food (they can bring there own beer!) and watch the Daytona 500.

I of course will be rooting for Ryan Newman and so will Jeni. Her family will be pulling for Dale Earnhardt JR which is fine because he is my #2.

I have to double check the connections to the stereo/speakers. I will have the race and coverage on all day and it will be on loud. The only thing I am dissapointed in is that I have not broke down and bought a LCD tv yet. But, what I have will do the trick. Plus I went out and bought a new toy that will stream my cable tv to my laptop(s). So at least one laptop will be set up in the kitchen so when people are getting refilling their plates, they won’t miss a second of the action. I think the laptop will be set up pretty far away from the chilli and meatballs.

Well, got to finish getting ready. Best luck to Ryan Newman, but I hope all the drivers have a safe and fun day!!

What are your plans for the day?

Ryan Newman Fan.
